It is extremely beneficial to workout during pregnancy. It helps decrease pregnancy aches and pains, may decrease your risk of gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, prep your body and mind for labor, improve recovery post birth and increase your mental health and confidence plus much much more.
We need to feel the freedom and confidence to workout during pregnancy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Maybe we know the benefits but we’re not sure how to actually workout. Maybe you get lost in what to do and how to do it. And can I just say, that makes sense – there’s a lot of information out there. So, what’s our framework and intention with our movement? What’s our goal in exercising and how are we going to do it?
Are we going to workout like we’ve always done, going for PR’s and pushing our limits or toning our body or trying to gain the least amount of weight? Is that the focus, just whatever it was before?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In my opinion? Absolutely not.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You aren’t fragile but you aren’t invincible.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This season is extremely unique and you will have to shift your mindset towards your workout. You aren’t working out to lose weight anymore. You aren’t trying for that PR in this season.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are actively training our mind and body for labor, we are ‘prehabbing’ so we can move into postpartum with more knowledge, understanding and ease. We’re setting up ourself for the next season, playing the long game.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This season can be dang empowering if we let it. It can be completely liberating. Yield to the season. Find your intention. Shift your mindset.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
