So you’re wanting to become healthier and have no idea where to start or what habit to focus on?
Here’s the list.
- Getting enough sleep
- Drinking enough water
- Moving efficiently + effectively
- Eating nourishing food
- Managing Stress of daily life
- Recieving proper healthcare
Focusing in on these habits will give you the most bang for your buck.
Each one of these can obviously be even more focused – right? Let’s take – look at moving efficiently and effectively since, hi, I’m a trainer and coach.
If you’re starting from the beginning, you don’t necessarily need to focus on how many cardio sessions per week you’re doing or deciding between a split body or full body routine.
Literally just start moving – and moving well – meaning focus on the main muscle group and make sure you’re not compensating in any given movement. Once you feel comfortable adding movement and exercise into your routine, then we can break it down and focus on smaller rocks, like frequency, duration + load. These are still important, but again, if you’re starting from the beginning, don’t let all those decisions paralyze you. Another thing is to go slow. Don’t feel like you need to dive into 30 minute workouts 5 days a week. 10 minutes a day for 5 days is great. Then the next week do 15 minutes for three of those days. Next week do all 5 days for 15 minutes. Slow and continual progress is the name of the game.
